Montage; Design for a diorama; "St. Brendan"; depicting the saint at sea, standing in the prow of his boat. Signed "Thomas Ryan 10 Feb. 1965" on the prow of the boat. Large sheet of thick brown backing card, bearing the title, onto which has been pasted a smaller sheet of black card to act as background; on this the detail has been pasted, using various thicknesses of paper and cardboard-box, to give a feeling of depth. At bottom left of the base card are two rows of numbers in blue ball-point; "7 6 5" and below that "8 4 3 2 1"; on reverse is a large red "2" in pencil.
