Postcard, colour, glossy; title at top right of view "The Cathedral, Ennis", with the word "The" crossed out and "R.C." substituted in black ink to the right, and "39726 J.V[in a circle] at bottom left of view. The view is within an embossed gold frame with green surround; at three corners of the frame there is Celtic knotwork, with two shamrock leaves worked into that at the top left corner; the bottom right is printed as though the corner of the view has curled over and in the corner is a gold harp with three shamrocks. View of the cathedral with parochial house at rear right, seen across two fields with stone wall between them; on left of picture are the rear yards and out-buildings of properties on street out of shot left. Reverse printed in grey; at centre top "Valentine's Series/ Famous/ throughout/ the/ World" with the word "Throughout" printed across two tangential globes, with "Post" to left and "Card" to right; vertical division line below previous; up left edge "Valentine's Dublin/ Copyright Design"; box for stamp at top right with "Printed in Scotland up the outside of the right edge. Unposted and unused. Pencil dealer's marks "Clare" at top left and "£2.50" at bottom left of centre.
