Postcard, colour, matt; multiview; titled in centre "Limerick". Four views of the city round a central circular coat of arms of the mayor of Limerick; each view is titled individually and in three views is a number followed by JV in a circle. Clockwise from top right "Sarsfield Bridge, Limerick". "56303JV" view of the bridge from Howley's quay area with sailing ship in right foreground; "St Alphonsus' Church, Limerick", "56299JV" viewed from the street showing main door; "The Jesuit's Church, Limerick" "56302JV", the church with O'Connell monument from the north; "Limerick from the Shannon" view of Englishtown from the east bank, with south-west corner tower of the castle at left edge and the old jail at right, with two angling cots moored in the river in the foreground. Reverse printed in grey-black; at centre top "Valentine's Series/ Famous/ Throughout/ the/ World", with the word throughout printed across two tangential globes which show the continents; "Post" to left and "Card" to right of previous; vertical centre line. Pale green halfpenny postage revenue stamp of Edward VII at top right. Circular cancellation over stamp, "Limerick/ 7PM/ SP16/ 11/ 3"; date of 1911 is a late usage for the stamp. Addresses to Mt. Carrick, Model? House, Trim, Co. Meath, from Aunt ???,; message delighted to hear good news. Pencil inscription at top "[pound sign]3.50"; dealer's mark.
