Medal, gold; circular with three projections at 2, 6 and 10 o'clock and crossed hurleys at round suspension hole at top, one ring in suspension hole. Obverse; at centre an enamelled shield showing the provincial arms, green red black and blue enamels; surmounted by a depiction of a steam engine and flanked by Celtic interlace design; around edge, three shamrocks engraved in projections and crossed hurleys at top; legend around edge "Great Southern/ Railways/ Challenge Cup". Reverse; engraved "Inter Provincial/ Hurling 1935/ Muma a buaid"; hallmarked at bottom, row of three, Hibernia, "T" for 1935, and "9 .375" over "H&H" (Hopkins and Hopkins)
