Postcard, colour, glossy; no front title. View shows the Treaty Stone from the west, with St. Munchin's at top left of frame and the gatehouse of the castle at right, with Thomond Bridge running across centre picture; a woman is cycling into town with a child on the seat behind, while two people are walking into town on the southern pavement; a blue van is turning into Castle street from Verdant Place and a VW van is parked opposite the Castle gate. Reverse printed in blue; at top left "Treaty Stone, Limerick, Co. Limerick. On/ the opposite side of the River Shannon to King/ John's Castle is the Treaty Stone on which were/ signed the terms of the surrender of 1691", with a translation in Irish below that; at centre top, an outline map of Ireland with Derry, Belfast, Dublin, Cork and Galway named; up centre as division "Published by N.P.O. Ltd 4 Clare St. Dublin; at centre bottom, a blue rectangle in which is a representation of a camera aperture at left and "NPO/ Dexter" to the right; at bottom left, "Litho Canada T [copyright sign] 2196-19240C"; to right of centre four lines for address. At top right 22p Eire, Valentine's Day commemorative issue, reading "LOVE", with the letter O in the form of a red heart shaped balloon, and the other letters in the form of clouds set against a blue sky. Two black cancellations, a rectangular one over the stamp shows the facade of a building and in a bubble to its right, only partially legible is, "???on/ ??????e/ Foundation/ ?? Units/ Tax Free"; at centre, circular of which only "Luimneach/ ? 30 PM/ ???/ 1985" is legible. Posted to P.O. Box 1057, R.T.E.
