Print; framed; titled "Souvenir/ in/ Commemoration of the/ Shanid Bazaar,/ August, 1913./ (Rathkeale "Forget-me-not" Stall)". Central square with title above a depiction of Cahermoyle and 8 lines of text below, printed in black on a buff paper; surrounded by a white lace pattern border with wavy edges; in turn surrounded by festoons of blue rosettes, with green and gold lines linking the rosettes. At base of central square "Printed by S. Burgess, 8, York Place, Strand, London, W.C.". Text under depiction of Cahermoyle House reads "A bazaar, which took its name from the historic Desmond Castle of Shanid, was/ held in aid of the erection of a Catholic Church at Kilcoleman, Co. Limerick, on/ 15th, 16th, and 17th August 1903, in the beautiful grounds of Cahermoyle, the home/ and birthplace of Smith O'Brien, the '48 leader, who is buried in the neighbouring/ churchyard of Rathronan. The grounds were kindly granted for the occasion by the/ present owner, Mr. Dermot O'Brien, R.A., President of the Royal Irish Academy./ The P.P. of Kilcoleman is the Rev. J. Murphy, an eloquent preacher and lecturer,/ and well-known Irish scholar and Gaelic Leaguer." Narrow dark stained frame with gold edging; reverse sealed with a large sheet of brown paper. Printed label on reverse in red and black "Picture Framing/ and Gilding./ John Ryan./ 66 Catherine Street,/ Limerick." Two eyes for hanging, one at either side of the frame. Small number of worm holes in the frame.
