Print, colour; "Garryowen Trampling on the Secessionist Flag./ Limerick, Sunday January 11th 1891"; "Supplement Gratis with "United Ireland" Saturday, January 17th 1891". Shows a man in a bowler hat with arms crossed and holding a shillelagh inscribed "Garryowen", standing on a flag inscribed "Dissension"; the man is posed in Castle Street, with the twin towers of the castle gate at right, the left tower flying a large flag depicting a harp and "Garryowen" around it. Signed at bottom left, "J.D. Reigh". Reverse inscribed in blue "January 1891" and is otherwise blank, but traces of newsprint at several points. Grey mount with gold line around print. Print held to mount along top edge with clear sticky tape. On reverse of mount, a black rectangle with central white square followed by the word "Arquati", stamped twice. Framed April 1998; gold painted wood; Chris Doswell framer's sticker on reverse.
