Teaspoon, Limerick silver, by John Purcell c 1800? Fiddle pattern with round end. Engraved with the initials I/KQ, with the I placed above space between K and Q. Three marks; IP in a rectangle repeated three times. The spoon has been repaired and possibly only the end attached to another spoon. Comparison with the previous item shows that this spoon is considerably larger and longer. Repaired across the handle below the engraved initials, two of the three marks of Purcell are counterstamped with a fleur-de-lis. Below the repair are the following marks SN in a rectangle, S in a shield, a crowned harp in a shield and Hibernia in a shield; these marks are an incomplete set of Dublin Sterling marks for 1814, the duty mark of the king's heads is absent; SN = Samuel Neville.
