Photograph, black and white, from glass negative. Two soldiers, backs to camera inspecting the damage to the front gate and wall of Strand Barracks 1922. There is a gaping hole in the wall on the left of picture and the left leaf of the gate is smashed and hanging loose, the figure to the right has his hand on the surviving right leaf. Donor's address label on the reverse. Inscribed on reverse "Front gate, Strand Barracks, 18 pounds gun damage July 1922" in black ball-point.
