Postcard, colour, glossy. Valentine's Series. Entitled "King John's Castle, Limerick"at top right with "56295 JV[in a circle]" at bottom left. The view shows the castle from Clancy Strand, with the eastern two spans of Thomond bridge at the left edge and roughly Newgate Lane at right; in the foreground three angling cots are moored in the river; St. Munchin's tower is visible to the left. Reverse printed in sepia; at centre top "Valentine's Series/ Famous/ Throughout/ the/ World/ Printed in Scotland" with the word "throughout" superimposed on two tangentially touching globes with the continent; "POST/CARD" printed around the previous, the last two letters of card being obscured by a postage stamp; vertical centre line; "Valentine Dublin" up the left margin.; box for stamp largely obscured by stamp, but "8-2" in bottom left corner. Filled out in pencil; addressed to Mr. M O'Connor, 1102 S. Rampart St., New Orleans, USA, from M. Mitchell, message all right at home. Two red 1 penny postage revenue stamps of George V, profile portrait. Franked with a rectangular cancellation which is illegible. The card has been lying close to a blue line paper which has left its mark.
