Watch, pocket watch by L.E. Ryan, key wind. White enamel face, with black Roman numerals inside a ring divided into minutes, with every fifth minute marked by a thicker line. Numbered "6661" below the 12. Minute hand; plain pointer with slight thickening c. two thirds along: hour hand has spear-head pointer. Separate second face, obscuring 6 o'clock; arabic numerals at every 10 seconds, and second markings with the five seconds highlighted; hand missing. Glass fronted silver? case opening at front and rear, with fob and suspension ring at top; engraved on back with a central uninscribed gartered shield and a diamond pattern formed by intersecting arcs of a circle. Inside of back cover stamped "56661/5, and with a partially legible stamp "...E/...VER" (Pure silver?), and inscribed with a series of jewellers marks (see inscriptions). Cover to the movements has two winding holes and is stamped "LEVER" and inscribed "L.E. Ryan, Watchmaker, Limerick; the inside of this cover is also stamped "56661"
