Plate. Mould-made wall-plate with a scene depicting Sarsfield Statue in relief, inside a floral decorative border. Hand painted in reddish brown and green, with some highlights of the border picked out in gold. Traces of a glaze or more likely a lacquer which has flaked away in places. Cream earthenware fabric, with possible white slip on surface. Raised inscription on base "5387" a second one is almost removed but the letters ???RIA are visible, possibly AUSTRIA (cf. 1989.269). Oval ink stamp reads "Made in Czechoslovakia". Footring pierced twice for suspension; a short length of brown twine remains.
