Blowlamp, English Manufacture with yellow and black oval sticker "Supplied by Patrick O'Malley, General Hardware, phone Limerick 44826". Laquered copper alloy and iron. Cylindrical body with vertical seam up the back. Top and bottom separated pieces soldered to the body. Primer pump and nozzle at top. Primer pump has a cylindical winged nut, externally threaded to fit into top, through which the plunger passes; black plastic handle to plunger. Nozzle part in five metal pieces. The nozzle itself is separated from the main part by a rubber gasket, a thin metal ? washer separates the main part from the body. The main part is cast as one with a vertical cylinder with nozzle cylinder at right angles to it, and terminates on upper end in a nut. From one face of this nut an arm turns upwards to become the fulcrum for a lever one end of which attaches to the a plunger through the middle of the main piiece. The lever is attached to the plunger by a separate cylindrical piece fastened with a tiny bolt. The plunger is held central to the main piece by a nut separated from the main piece by a rubber? washer. The lever is designed to be thumb operated from the handle attached to the reverse. The handle is attached by four bolts to four circular pieces soldered to the main body, two either side of the seam. The handle itself is made of a single piece of cut and folded metal, with cylindrical grip. The lower part of the handle runs horizontally to the body, but the upper curves to fit the hand, and give access to the lever. The lever arm and handle are iron, while the rest does not respond to a magnet and is assumed to be a copper alloy, which retains traces of laquering. The lever arm is cast with the inscriptions "Made in England" and "Model A". This lever and the handle are painted black.
