O/ An irregular soldier standing to attention in centre; across centre Eire; four provincial arms in squares in the quarters; inscription Cogad na Saoirse (The fight for freedom) at bottom. R/ palm spray round left edge. Engraved, John/Dargan/1399. Ribbon, half black half tan. suspended from a safety pin backed brooch with Celtic design.
