Watch, pocket, silver. A pocket watch with Swiss made workings, a British made silver case (Dennison Watch Case Co.), and face inscribed with the name of a Limerick jeweller. The watch has two hinged covers, hinged at the bottom, one at the front with a glass face over the watch face, and the other all of silver, which opens to reveal the curved silver cover for the workings. The watch has an enamelled hour and minute face, with hands, and also within it a 60 - second dial with hand, placed at bottom, its bottom edge between the 7 and 5, with the 6 omitted. Top, below 12, is Luimneac, in gaelic script. Between the hub of the main dial and the top of the second dial, is R. Wallace, and between the bottom of the second dial and the perimeter of the main dial is, left, Swiss, right, Made. From the top of the watch there is a large stalk bearing at its end a flat topped ribbed winding knob. A ring is attached to the stalk at either side. The edge of the case (not the covers) is ribbed all round. On the outside of the back cover is a shield design, blank, surrounded by a garter design, circular. Marks: On the suspension ring, two marks, left, DO, right, the mark representing Sterling. On the back of the winder stalk, tiny, ALD. Inside the back cover are four marks, arranged with one at top (a lion standing facing left), one left of centre (an anchor), one right of centre (X), all the above stamped, set in shields, and bottom (ALD) in a rectangle with rounded corners. Below this last is 412216.
