Spigot, bronze, Dutch / German, C15th - C16th, from a barrel. Zoomorphic mouthpiece, with the snout in the form of a raised V-shape, a groove to each side. The opening is a circular mouth, outlined by a V-sectioned groove. The eyes, in front of the top section, are formed by grooves to each side of a ridge. The face, between the eyes and the snout, is concave with a midrib. The sides and underneath the head are flat, the sides faceted to the underside. The top section consists of a vertical, slightly tapering cylinder, with three facets on each side, containing a tapering cylindrical stop, the handle of which is in the form of a cock. The cock is flat, with faceted edges, the eyes a deep groove around a hollow, and with a crest on the head. Behind the top section is a slightly faceted and tapering tube.
