Medal, bronze/ brass. "Archconfraternity of the Holy Family", silk suspension band. Oval medal with flan, groove and ridge inside flan. O/ in the lower two thirds, holy family, Jesus as youth, haloed, left hand on chest, right hand half raised in blessing in centre; to left Mary, hands joined looking down on him; to right Joseph, left hand on chest, olive branch in right hand, looking down on Jesus. All dressed in Roman style. Above, dove radiant, and around above "Jesus Mary Joseph". R/ around, raised, title. Centre, "Established/ by/ Pius IX/ April 1847". Suspension loop above. Green silk suspension band with a central white strip stitched on, held to the medal with green thread, the ends of the band stitched together to form a triangular point.
