View shows seven women in shawls and two men outside a whitewashed two storey house; one of the men is weighing butter on a scales hung from the shaft of a cart at left; two of the women hold wicker baskets, one of these is seated on a box; two women at left stand behind a wicker hamper, a bowl of butter is on a table in foreground. Reverse printed in green; at centre top, under "Trade" in small letters, a shield, in which "Signal/ Series/ E & S Ltd/ D. & B."; "Post" to left and "Card" to right of shield, underlined with a faint dotted vertical division; up left edge "F. Hartmann's Real Glossy Series./ Published by Eason & Son, Ltd. Dublin and Ireland"; box for stamp at top right corner with "Printed Abroad" down internal right side. In message space in black ink the letter "G" with smudge to right. Not posted.
