Cup. Limerick silver two handled cup by George Moore, c.1760. Bell shaped bowl with reeded band between the handles, waisted stem and convex expanding hollow foot, grooved at the junction with the stem and twice above the foot rim. Double C-scroll handles with raised foliate thumb rests, attached at the bottom to raised stepped oval plates and at the top with a raised ridge and groove oval with a grooved oval tail hanging towards the midband. Crest engraved on one face, unicorn head erased l. on a rope ground within curving sprigs of grass or cereal. Marks: G.M on shield, (ster)ling in rectangle to r., rubbed, the first four letters obliterated, on the opposite face from the crest, beside the top of the l. handle. Compass mark on underside of bowl, with large quantity of solder attaching the stem. Scratchmarked beside compass mark: -|$|T and scratched on parts of underside of foot.
