Pattern makers tool of J Finnan. Iron. Consists of an L-shaped strip of metal, rectangular in cross section. The broad axis of the cross section on the base of the L-shape is horizontal when the tool is vertical. The stem tapers above the base, and the axis of the cross section changes through 90 degrees. The stem widens and tapers before widening and flattening for the upper two thirds of its length, where the faces are slightly convex. The flat tip of the stem is bevelled from both faces. The base of the tool widens slightly from the stem.
