Pattern makers tool of J Finnan. Iron. Consists of a strip of metal, rectangular in outline, gently curved along its long axis, with a plate handle of copper or bronze welded centrally on the concave surface along its long axis. The handle is a plate bent and doubled, the ends splayed for welding. On each face of the handle are traces of engraved circles of zig-zag lines. One face of the handle is engraved with the initials J.L. The other face has lettering, very worn, possible the makers name.
