Sauceboat, Limerick silver by George Moore, c. 1770. Oval globular bowl with slightly flared rim, concave top, broad spout at front above level of the rim. Ear shaped tapered double C-scroll handle opposite spout, with a rounded upturn at the rim attachment, and a downward and outward flare at the body attachment, where it is on a flat oval attachment to the body. Flare ended drop on the top of the handle. Three shell hoof feet, that under the spout shorter, giving a forward lean to the bowl, and this leg is not properly vertical, giving a slight lean to one side. Marks: G.M in rectangle on underside of bowl; engraved P.M. above makers mark.
