At top left, The River Shannon, Limerick City/ Seen here from the O'Callaghan Strand- Clancy Strand side of/ Limerick city, the mighty Shannon, named after Sionna, a/ Celtic goddess has been an important waterway since antiquity./ The river flows generally southward from the Shannon Pot in/ County Cavan before turning west and emptying into the Atlantic/ Ocean.
