Apron. Limerick Coopers Guild. Framed. Oil paint on canvas with white silk border on three sides and white silk fringe on the convex bottom of the apron. Blue field above, grey green and dark green foreground below. In centre, the coopers arms, shield quartered white, pink, red and green, with three hoops, scent with trees at top of shield. Above shield, dove with olive sprig emerging, wings extended, and above this, triple towered castle, conical centre tower with flag, on green ground. (Castle of Limerick City arms?). To l. of arms, a bearded cooper in biblical dress, barefoot, holding a short handled axe. To r. a white and grey stallion on hind leg. Below the shield a cask, with an anchor to r. Below all, a scroll inscribed: Prosperity may attend the integrity of our cause. Below scroll, shamrocks.
