Across bottom; This magnificent cathedral was founded in the 12th century. St mary's athedral has dominated the/ skyline of Limerick City for over 800 years. Home to the finest example of misericords/ (mercy seats for the elderly priests) in all of Ireland, carved with fantastic animals and motifs/ dates from 1489. One of the oldest churches in Ireland still in continuous use today.Not used.
