Cap. Uniform cap of Colonel Michael Colivet of the Irish Volunteers. Green twill with black leather peak and flat top. Metal ring inside flat top to hold it in shape, two metal eyes at each side to allow circulation. Brass badge at centre front, a shield with the Treaty Stone at centre. Badge has a hook on the back, and is sewn by this to the cap. Black leather chinstrap with buckle, above the peak. Long length of black ribbon, fastened either end to same point as chinstrap.The inside of the peak is light green and carries an inscription which is unclear, ?Col. Colivet/ {Thomond?}gate/ 11/5/16; the date of his arrest. Some minor moth damage to one side.
