Jacket. Uniform jacket of Colonel Michael Colivet of the Irish Volunteers. Made by Thomas Donovan, Limerick. Green twill, with four patch pockets, each with button down flap with single button. Four buttons at front for fastening. each sleeve has four braid rings at the bottom, meeting a green subrectangular patch bordered with braid. within the green field is a bage of three shamrocks. Green shoulder strap button down at outer end. Badges and buttons made of brass. All buttons domed, with a harp at centre, with I to left and V to right. On reverse Comyns & Son/ Dublin.Two iron slides at the small of the back to hold a belt in place. There is some moth damage to the lower pockets and lower edge of the jacket.
Card luggage label attached to upper button, inscribed in pencil that the jacket was seized from the Colivet residence, Castleview Terrace, on his arrest 11-05-16
