Limerick Philosophical & Literary Society, 12 Feb 1845, those who became shareholders in the building specifically to aid the society to erect a house for its operations, and those who subscribed their money as a pecuniary speculation only. Signed George Westropp, chairman. Divided below in three columns, two headed subscribers for society whose feelings remain the same, containing 75 signatures, the third headed Subscribed for shares as a mere pecuniary speculation, to get a percentage of our money, containing no signatures, and diagonally lined midway down and inscribed: end of this column.
