Letter. (Major Thomas) Stannard MacAdam, Blackwater House, Parteen, to Maurice Lenihan, no date. Pp.7-11 of letter in which he contradicts the tradition that his ancestor betrayed a ford across the Shannon to the Williamites, arising from its publication in Lenihans newspaper and trusts that Lenihan will make amends. In postscript, notes that Lenihan has entered his name for copies of his History - if satisfied with the vindication of his family name he meant to take many more to distribute among friends. He goes again soon to Blackwater for a long stay. R/: I go Thursday for a little time to Revd Albert Mangles, Beech Hill, Woking, Surrey. One leaf folded and one sheet white paper, written all sides. Were bound with glue. Watermark on p.11: Joy(nson).
