Banknote, National Bank of Ireland, Limerick, specimen Thirty Shilling note. Printed black on white, one side only. Border of shamrocks with Bank name at centre top; inside border at top left arms of a harp in shield with animal supporters and a crest of a stag looking out from a castle gate; at centre Hibernia with harp and wolfhound and motto "Erin Go Bragh" at right "Thirty /Shillings" in circle. Text below "I promise to pay the Bearer/ On demand Thirty Shillings at Limerick/ for the Directors and Company"; "Specimen" stamped in place for manager's signature and aslo vertically up centre. In ms "March 10th 36 alter'd to Wexford" "Perkins Bacon & Petch, London. Patent Hadened Steel Plate" above frame at centre bottom.. Note has been stuck in a book; remnants of glue stuck to back
