Letter, paper. Under head, printed black on pale blue, "19 Ely Place/ Baile Atha Cliath"; Ms letter 21-2-1939; "Sir, I see that the Mayor and Corporation of Limerick have sent congratulations to General Franco./ This must be the greatest disgrace that ere has befallen the city of Limerick/ Michael O'Callaghan and George Clancy, Mayors of Limerick, who were murdered by the British and all the other Limerick men who died for a free Republic in Ireland would be bitterly ashamed of their city if they knew that its representatives had congratulated the man who brought in foreign invaders to Spain, his own country to crush a free Republic there/ The enclosed letter from the Evening mail speaks better than I can/ R. Jacob" Watermark of a round-tower and wolfhound, with "Ancient Irish Vellum" to right and "Made in Saggart" below.
