Knife, tanged, bronze, broken centrally in two. Ribbed flat tang with slightly concave sides, splaying at the terminal and at the rounded shoulders. The terminal has a slight bevel from each face, and is irregular in outline, flattened in parts from hammering, but appears to have been rounded in outline. The longtitudinal rib is central on one face, slightly off-centre on the other. The blade is leaf-shaped with rounded tip, pointed oval in cross-section. The edges are bevelled. Between the bevel and the very low rounded midrib is a low ridge bordered by very shallow grooves from just above the tip, fading out about one-quarter way down from the shoulders. These are imperceptible when viewed in section. The midrib has cord decoration from midway to c.5cm below the shoulders, consisting of short shallow s-shaped grooves arranged in parallel oblique lines of three or four grooves. Portions of the blade are very worn, so it is not clear how far the decoration originally extended. The blade edges are extensively dented and blunted.
