Knife, socketed bronze, patinated green. Thorndon type. Sub-rectangular socket mouth, flat rimmed, slightly damaged on the sides. Raised ribs centrally on the internal faces, meeting at the socket base, worn towards the mouth. Large peg-holes on the sides 1.3cm below the rim, one square, the other pear-shaped. Worn casting seams run across the peg-holes the length of the socket. The socket tapers slightly towards the blade, and runs flush with it. The junction of the socket with the blade forms a straight scarp on each face. The blade is leaf-shaped with bevelled edges and a flattened midrib with broad shallow grooves to each side, their outline following the outline of the blade. The tip of the blade is missing, and the edges are dented and blunted in places.
