Axehead, copper or bronze, flat. Harbison Type Ballyvalley, No. 1646. Thin narrow rounded butt. The sides diverge gently and evenly for two-thirds of its length from the butt, before splaying gently to the convex cutting edge. Plano-convex cross-section. The cutting edge has a broad even bevel on the flat face, with a narrower bevel on the convex face, broadening from one side to the other. The side edges are rounded, one, on the flat face, faceted towards the butt. The surfaces are uneven, with light oblique scratching, especially towards the cutting edge.
