Coffee pot, Limerick silver, by Samuel Johns, lidded, with wooden handle. Pyriform outline, plain moulded footring. Chased rococo decoration; between handle and spout on either side a cartouche over four roses; diaper lozenges with dots at centre below handle; fluting at base of spout, continuing to rim as C-scroll ornament;lid has a pineapple central knop with radiating leaves below. Lid attached by hinge situated on the handle; C-scroll wooden (rosewood?) handle. Maker's marks; below rim to right of handle and on base, "S.J" in a rectangle; that below the rim is very worn and faint. On base; scratch weight "34 0z 7p" and, fainter, "35 3"; engraved "N F A" with the F slightly higher than the other two letters, with a diamond of four dots above the first and last letter and below the middle one; scratched "18518" and "?Mr. Blanchai?"
