View from Sarsfield bridge north across the river, Clancy Strand at left with southern part of castle beyond, gaol at centre right, Courthouse with tower of St. Mary's directly behind, and Potato Market by right edge, seven rowing boats moored in river in foreground. "K. John's Castle" and "Cathedral" in blue ball-point in top margin over the respective buildings. Reverse printed in green; at top Post [Card]/ Made in I[reland]" with continuation obscured by stamp; to left "For Correspondence"; up centre "Guaranteed Real Photograph"; bottom centre "Produced by Cardall Ltd Dublin". One red Eire 1d definitive issue stamp with outline map of Ireland under an arch with to right two green 1/2d definitive issue stamps showing a monk at a table with a manuscript. Circular post mark at centre "Luimneach/ 3 PM/ 29 SEP/ 1968, with five wavy lines to right. Addressed to The Misses Ruby, 20 Vernon Grove, Rathgar, Dublin, from Ruth, Lansdowne Tce., Ennis Rd. message; weather bad. Pencil dealer's marks "Lim" at top left and "£1" at bottom right of centre.
