View of the hotel from the Clare side of the river, with a stretch of the canal running diagonally across the bottom left corner of the view; there is a motor launch at centre of picture with a speed boat to its left and two rowing boats to its right, all in the middle of the river. Reverse printed in black; at centre top an open book with a letter C on each leaf, set on a shamrock in turn set on a banner with "A Cardall" on it; to left of previous "Post" and "Card" to right; "Printed in the Republic of Ireland- 54" up centre as division; "Published by Cardall Ltd. Dublin" at bottom left; "Address" to right, with five lines for address below. Green two pingin stamp, Eire, showing the outline map of Ireland under an arch inscribed Eire, with Celtic interlace on the pillars and shamrocks in the spandrels. Circular black cancellation "Cill Chaoidhe Co. An Chlair [Kilkee]" in outer ring "1 30 PM/ 14 VII/ 6?" in centre. Posted to Miss K[ate] Campbell, Sunville Lodge, N.C.Rd.
