Postcard, b/w, glossy, white margin around; title in inset within picture, at bottom left "O'Connell Street, Limerick". View looking north from the east side just to the south of Liston's Chemist; both kerbs lined with cars, a provisions van is just passing a cyclist at left foreground, to right of picture a car is heading towards camera with a cyclist in front of him, there is scaffolding up the front of the fourth building in from the right margin. Reverse printed in black; "Post Card/ Printed in Ireland" at centre top; "Signal Series E&S Ltd." up centre as division; "For Correspondence" to left of centre; "For Address Only" to right. Blue 3 pingin definitive issue stamp, Eire, depicting a stylised head of a high cross with interlace decoration on arms and ring and with shamrocks at each corner. Circular black cancellation to left of centre "Luimneach/ 9 15 PM/ 28 JUN/ 1955", with five parallel wavy lines to the right continuing across stamp. Addressed in blue ball-point to Mrs. Mary Donder, 9 Ham St., Dover, New Hampshire, U.S.A., from Margaret Slattery; message, loved flight to Shannon, people grand. Pencil inscriptions, at left top "Lim" and centre bottom price; both dealer's marks.
