Card, invitation, printed; Invitation card from the City Council to the Ceremony of Presentation of the Freedom of the City to President de Valera and Ald. Mrs. Thomas J. Clarke T.D. by the Deputy Mayor at the Theatre Royal, Henry St on Monday Dec 5th (1918) at 3p.m. Embossed scroll border around the card holed at one point near top centre. Front inscribed at two points, "For Self" and "Eamonn de Valera". Reverse inscribed in pencil; "Nodlaig 5 an badh bliadhan/ de 'n tSaorstat" and "Muire bean ni Donnobain/ Deputy Mayor of Limerick". Together with card is an envelope printed on reverse with the coat of arms of Limerick an "Oifig an Maoir/ Luimneach". On the front of envelope in brown ink "Presented to the city by/ Mr. Ambrose McNamara/ 100 Clinton Avenue, Minneola N.Y."
