Postcard, black and white, matt, Valentine series. Entitled "Thomond Bridge, Limerick" at bottom left , with "56297 JV[in a ring]" at bottom right. The view shows the bridge taken from the Clare side north of the bridge; five spans are shown, with the Castle behind the bridge; two houses in Verdant Place are shown at the left edge and the right margin a bush on the Clare side obscures the bridge; a single rowing boat is moored on the river below Verdant Place, and a number of people are on the bridge some standing and lying on the parapet. The reverse is printed in sepia; at centre top "Valentine's Series/ Famous/ Throughout/ the/ World.", with the word "throughout" superimposed on a band across two tangential touching globes showing the continents and meridian lines; "POST/ CARD" either side of the previous; vertical centre line; "Valentine's "Sepiatype" series. Copyright Picture" up left margin; rectangular box for stamp, with "23-1" in its upper right corner. Unposted and unused. "LIM". in pencil at the upper right corner; a dealer's mark.
